Santa’s Story     - Aine
Once upon a time Santa was hard at work. Christmas was only one night away, and Santa was under a lot of pressure. When I say ‘hard at work’ I mean sitting on his butt doing nothing, except for eating all of Mrs Claus’s mince pies. Mrs Claus is not happy. She starts shouting at Santa “Get ready to deliver to all the boys and girls!” So, Santa set off on his sleigh up, up, and away and he said “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

The Mystery of the Missing Cat     - Ruby
It was Christmas Eve when I discovered that my brother had gone missing. We looked everywhere but we could not find him. This was a case even I couldn’t solve and I have solved 100 cases.
We alerted the humans but they can’t understand what we are saying. At this point Mam turned to the only source left. The Dog! He agreed to help us but his dog squad didn’t want to help find my brother. After all he is a CAT. Even the elf said no!
So he turned to the only person he could trust. His friend Ruby. Ruby is part of my team said Ralph. She’s my human sister. Ruby and Ralph went to search the garden. They heard a noise coming from the garage. They went to investigate. There they found my brother, Candy Cane. He had accidentally got locked in the garage. He was there all night. Mam gave him a big hug and thanked us for finding him.
Later that day Ruby’s father was tidying the garage. He saw something in the corner. It was dark so he picked it up to get a closer look. It was Candy Cane’s poop!

Ruby's story was originally presented as a graphic novel, complete with illustrations and binding. Well done, Ruby!
Gilbert’s Christmas
by Sean
Once upon a time there was a boy called Gilbert. He had orange hair, green eyes and loved to eat bananas. Gilbert had two elves. Their names were Larry and Penny.
One day Gilbert woke up and couldn’t find Larry and Penny. He saw a trail of teddies. He followed the trail. It led him to the playroom. In the playroom the elves had made a Lego house. He looked away for a few seconds and the elves shrank Gilbert. Suddenly Gilbert was scared. “Why is everything around me big?, he asked. Then he noticed there was a Lego house beside him. Then someone called Who are you? I’m Gilbert. Can I come in? No, the man shouted. Why is your house made out of Lego?, Gilbert asked. And do you know how to get me back to normal size? Well, all you have to do is find one of your elves and climb up to their ear and whisper I want to get out of this house. Then Gilbert went to Larry’s ear and whispered the words and as if by magic he grew to normal size.
Phew, he said. At least that’s over.

The Snowman Who Saved Christmas     - by Gabriel
Once upon a time there was a boy and a girl building a snowman. The boy’s name was Mark and the girl’s name was Lucy. The date is 24th December  - Jesus-mas - and they were putting up their tree. When Mark and Lucy were outside later playing with their friends the snowman started to move. Everyone ran away but the elves and Santa fell down. The snowman helped them. Christmas was saved.

The Stormy Night   by Sadie
It was a stormy night. My sister, Beatrice, and I were fast asleep when we heard a huge crash outside on the lawn. I looked out the window and saw Santa’s sleigh in pieces on the lawn.
Beatrice and I ran downstairs and out on to the front lawn. Santa said you kids should be fast asleep by now. I said were fast asleep Santa but all the noise woke us up. Santa said I have crashed my sleigh because of this terrible wind, and I have lost my bag of toys and my reindeers. Maybe we can help you find your bag and your reindeers? That would be wonderful, said Santa.
I eventually found the reindeer outside the local church carol-singing and brought them back to my house. They were singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Santa and my sister were already back with the big bag of toys. Santa said thank you kids for helping me. What presents did you ask for? A skateboard, I said and my sister wanted a doll. Santa pulled out a skateboard for me and a doll for my sister. Then he jumped into his sleigh and shouted Merry Christmas as he sped off into the night.
