Active School
On Thursday, we were very busy and active at Borris NS! We had an obstacle course on the red playground and we really enjoyed taking part in this. Watch 3rd Class taking part below!
Senior Infants and 4th Class enjoyed a Buddy Nature Walk on Thursday. 4th Class were helping Senior Infants to look for signs of Spring in our school environment and we were being active at the same time!
5th Class took part in a wellie-throwing competition also.
Members of our Active School Committee paid a visit to 1st Class to get them up and active. The 1st Class really enjoyed following all these instructions and joined in brilliantly.
On Wednesday, Stephanie and Teresa from County Carlow Local Sports Partnership came to visit. They held athletics sessions with all classes from Junior Infants to 6th Class. We really enjoyed taking part in an obstacle course relay. Please see the pictures below to see how much fun we had.
On Tuesday, a Tug O' War coach called Tony came to teach 5th and 6th Class how to participate in Tug O' War. This was great fun and we remembered some pointers that Cathy had taught us during her last visit. Watch the videos and see the pictures below to see how strong our pupils are!
Some classes were enjoying yoga in the hall, practising some poses!
On Monday, we were lucky enough to have a badminton coach called Declan come to visit us again at Borris N.S. He took classes from 1st to 6th Class and taught us a variety of skills such as using a backhand stroke, forehand stroke and how to serve. We really enjoyed the day and we learned lots! Junior Infants also took part in some badminton of their own, having been inspired by their older schoolmates. Please take a look at the pictures below.
